Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using MetaExploit. By creating an account or using the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to everything set out below.
MetaExploit exists for one reason: to help people learn cybersecurity lawfully and ethically. The knowledge here is powerful. How you choose to use it is entirely your responsibility.
What MetaExploit is
MetaExploit is a cybersecurity journal, community and hands-on training ground. It covers both sides of the field — offensive security (how attacks work) and defensive security (how to detect, prevent and respond to them) — alongside programming, networking and related topics.
The purpose of teaching offensive techniques is defensive: you cannot protect a system you do not understand how to attack. Every article, lab, quiz and challenge is published so that students, professionals and curious learners can build real, transferable skill.
- A learning resource — not a service for attacking real systems.
- Content is educational and provided for study, practice and research.
- Using the platform means you accept these Terms and our approach.
Strictly for learning and ethical practice
Everything on MetaExploit is provided exclusively for education, training and lawful security research. It is meant to make you a more capable, more responsible practitioner — never to enable wrongdoing.
You may only apply what you learn on systems, networks and data that you own, or for which you have explicit, written authorisation from the owner (for example, a formal penetration-testing engagement, a bug-bounty program within its rules, or your own isolated lab). Anything else is prohibited.
- Practise only in environments you own or are authorised to test.
- Get permission in writing before testing anything that is not yours.
- Treat every technique as a tool for defence, research and learning.
- When in doubt about whether something is allowed — do not do it.
Your account and eligibility
To access the full platform you create a free account. You are responsible for the information you provide and for everything that happens under your account.
- Provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity carried out through your account.
- Do not share, sell or transfer your account to anyone else.
- Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
- You must be legally able to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.
What you may do
We want you to get the most out of the platform. The following uses are welcome and encouraged.
- Read, study and discuss the articles, labs and challenges.
- Reproduce techniques in your own lab or an authorised environment.
- Use what you learn to defend systems, pass exams and grow your career.
- Report mistakes, suggest improvements and contribute constructively.
What you must never do
The following are strictly forbidden. Doing any of them violates these Terms, may result in immediate account termination, and may expose you to serious legal consequences (see the next section).
- Accessing any system, account, network or data without authorisation.
- Using material from the platform to attack, disrupt or damage real targets.
- Creating or distributing malware to harm others.
- Stealing, leaking or trafficking in personal data or credentials.
- Fraud, phishing, extortion, harassment or any other illegal activity.
- Attacking, scanning or abusing MetaExploit itself or its infrastructure.
- Reselling, republishing or misrepresenting the content as your own.
Cybercrime is real crime — and it is punished
The techniques you learn here are neutral. Used against a system you are authorised to test, they are security work. Used against someone else without permission, the very same actions are crimes. This is true almost everywhere in the world, regardless of your intentions or curiosity.
Cybercrime broadly includes: gaining unauthorised access to computers or accounts ("hacking"); creating, spreading or deploying malware, ransomware or spyware; stealing, exposing or selling data and credentials; online fraud, phishing and identity theft; and knocking services offline (denial-of-service). Even attempting these acts, or helping someone else commit them, can be an offence.
The consequences are severe and long-lasting. They commonly include:
- Criminal prosecution and a permanent criminal record.
- Substantial fines and orders to pay compensation.
- Imprisonment — sentences grow with the harm caused.
- Civil lawsuits from victims seeking damages.
- Seizure of devices and frozen accounts during investigations.
- Being barred from the security profession and losing job or study offers.
- Lasting damage to your reputation that follows you for years.
A moment of curiosity or a "harmless test" against a system that is not yours can change your life. If you would not do it in the physical world, do not do it online. Learn here; act only where you are authorised.
Content and intellectual property
The articles, labs, challenges, code samples and other materials on MetaExploit are provided for your personal learning. Intellectual-property rights in the content remain with their owners.
- Use the content for study, practice and research.
- Do not repackage or redistribute it to enable malicious activity.
- Respect the rights of authors and third parties referenced here.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
MetaExploit is provided "as is", for educational purposes, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep the material accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee it is complete or error-free.
You alone are responsible for how you use the knowledge gained here. To the fullest extent permitted, MetaExploit and its team are not liable for any misuse of the content, or for any loss or damage arising from your use of the platform. Nothing here is legal advice.
